Mama Me Mojo
Inspired by an old weathered garden statue
Meet Mama Mojo ~ Mama Mojo is the only surviving garden statue from a very old collection of statues, from a spiritual single mother who loved collecting dolls and statues, from around the world. She found them from local thrift stores and African shops and placed them in her home and garden.
This hard working mother collected every doll and statue she could from Africa, Japan, China, Russia, Mexico and Italy to cabbage patch dolls. She even made her own ‘china doll’ as a gift for her daughter.
This humble mother worked very hard on her collection, and showed them off proudly to family and friends. But, unfortunately they were stolen at various times in her life. Some where spirited away while she worked as a registered private nurse, other times, they were stolen by party visitors, guests of some of her friends, while others had to be sold to fund her various moves to new safe places of living.
Despite loosing her collection bit, by bit, (if the losses bothered her, you would not know) she didn’t flinch, she stayed positive, steadfast and focused on taking care of her children, raising them to love all cultures of the world and to inspire others to always remain loving.
Somehow this pictured statue representing “mama earth” , (according to the local African shop that sold it to her in the 80’s), was the only statue left that survived. All the others were gone, but this one remained.
This mother and healer is now 81 and has handed down the garden statue to her daughter, our artist, who named this old weathered garden statue Mama Mojo.
Mama Mojo now watches over her daughters' garden, meditating on the magnificent sacred geometry of nature. She meditates in peace, keeping the neighborhood safe, pushing out calm to souls, while emanating patterns of perseverance and growth.
With much introspective inspiration from an old statue, Mama Me Mojo was started by the digital artist Yasa Henson, better known as ‘Yasa’; in order to share and create healing visual art, fractal art, mystical mandalas, healing words, and unifying original art, that aims to cheer up the the melancholy mind.
